Canada Visitor Visa Package for Individuals and Professionals (TRV)

Non-Visa-Exempt Nationals and Business Persons. As many non-visa-exempt applicants have found (often the hard way), obtaining a visitor's visa to Canada, or "temporary resident visa" (TRV), is not easy. Unfortunately, this is especially true for our African-based clients where CIC is particularly guarded or even sceptical when reviewing a Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application. (Note: EU nationals, as well as the Swiss, are visa-exempt and don't require a Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).)

If you're a business person and regularly conduct business in the US or Canada, being able to secure a multiple-entry visa in advance is a smart way to respond to client and business matters in a proactive manner.

Whether doing business or visiting a relative, it is imperative that non-visa-exempt nationals prove to the immigration officer that their stay in Canada is indeed, as the name suggests, temporary.

By law, the onus of proving that you intend to respect the terms of your entry into Canada rests solely on you. In other words, simply filing out a TRV form with a one-page "sponsor" letter will virtually guarantee rejection. Similarly, a one-page letter from a company requesting your presence for a "meeting" is also insufficient to obtain a Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).

A successful Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application is based on the strength of your supporting documentation, a good cover letter summarising why you qualify and a complete set of error-free forms. (Twenty-five per cent of forms are returned due to incomplete answers alone.)

If you have an important business meeting to attend or wish to visit a relative or if you're just planning to visit Quebec City on the way to the United States, we encourage you to use a licenced immigration practitioner to prepare and file your Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application.

We particularly encourage business persons who regularly conduct business in North America to file early so they can better respond to client and business needs without additional bureaucracy and without delay.
