The TEF exam should be taken for most immigration programs including the Federal Skilled Worker if you are claiming points based on your French language abilities. Quebec-based immigration streams accept both the TEF and TEFaQ format, however the latter is more suited given writing and reading is not included in the TEFaQ examination. The Quebec program does not assess proficiency in "writing" and "reading".
